Hi Catie,

Good speaking with you!  I hope you can help - as per our chat, I'm looking for two actors.

Basically, the p/u point for the rooster is 0500. Two actors will be dressed as hillbilly rednecks and go pick up the roosters.  There are two drop off areas (i.e. members homes) they'll be taking them to with their script. The rate is $50/hr for a 4 hr min call time, plus petrol and up to $200 ea for a costume (receipts needed)
This is for the members of the YPO - (young presidents club) We wil provide the script.  The rooster will be in a cage and will have food and instructions for care.
They contact me directly by phone for more info at 780-932-2621 or by email to borysa@BOSevents.ca
Please let me know if you find anyone.
Thank you!!

Audition Notice - Messiah on the Frigidaire

Auditions for Messiah on the Frigidaire by John Culbertson.
Directed by Stuart Bentley

"The small town of Elroy, South Carolina is thrust into the evangelical spotlight, when what seems to be the image of Jesus appears on a refrigerator in a trailer park. The discovery by Lou Ann Hightower, her husband Dwayne, and her best friend Betsy, sets into motion a frenzy of conflict, communion and good old fashioned commerce. When the National Investigator turns the appearance into front page headlines, their trailer park becomes a mecca for miracle seekers, soul searchers and disciples with a decidedly political agenda. At the urging of the towns business leaders, Betsy pretends to get messages from the appliance-based apparition, and the crowds multiply like loaves and fishes. Through the ordeal, the three undergo an evolution in their relationships with each other, and they are forced to come to grips with their lowly status in the caste system of the rural south. In a region where religion is as much a part of life as grits and cotton fields, God surely moves in mysterious ways."

Cast of Characters

Lou Ann Hightower:                        An attractive woman. 30's to 40's. Southern beauty, but no belle.
Dwayne Hightower:                        A man in his 30's to 40's. Still handsome, but life has taken its toll.
Betsy Gridley:                                    An attractive woman 30's to 40's. Though her better days are behinher, she still enjoys flaunting her sexuality.
Reverend Cecil Hodges:                A man in his 50's-60's. Pious preacher at Elroy First Baptist Church.
Larry Williamson:                              A man in his 30's to 40's. The balding cocky and condescending City Councilman.
Woman:                                               Mother in her mid 30's to early 40's.
Boy:                                                       Blind nine-year-old.
Stranger:                                             The mysterious man, or woman, perhaps in their late 40's or 50's, but could be almost any age

Casting Note:                                     Lou Ann, Dwayne, Betsy and Larry all went to high school together, so it should be believable that they are the same age.

Auditions will be by group read.  Please choose the night that works best for you.  There is no need to come on both nights

Auditions will held at St. Peter's Anglican Church at 903 – 75th Avenue S.W. Calgary on October 5th and October 7th at 7:00 p.m. sharp

Call backs will be held on October 12th at 7:00 p.m. sharp at St. Peter's Anglican Church (903 – 75th Avenue S.W. Calgary)

There will be a full read through with the cast approximately one week after casting is complete.  Rehearsals will begin slowly in early to mid-December and will begin in earnest in January, with rehearsals on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7 to 10 and on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 5.
