AUDITION NOTICE

The Painted Fish Performing Arts Society is holding audition for cast members of all ages for their  production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast! (Musical)


Here is what you need to know:

Show Dates:           April 30 - May 10, 2020

Number of shows   10

At:                           Cite des Rocheuses Theatre (across from MRU)

Rehearsals:            Monday nights 7-9 PM starting first week of January 2020
                               Alternate Saturdays 9-4 PM Starting mid-February
                               at Forest Lawn United Church, 2236 - 25 St. SE

Number of Cast:     30-35, all ages

Sample Roles:        The Beast, Belle, Gaston, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Le Fou, Maurice, the Triplets,  and so on....


AUDITION TIMES:  September 3, September 5, September 9   6:30 - 9:00 P.M.

Audition Requirements:   

One song which shows the range of your voice (tracks preferred)
One story you will tell us (max 3 minutes) which shows us your character.

The Painted Fish celebrates their 12th season of presenting family musicals with casts of all ages and faiths. We encourage young and old who would like to explore their talent on the stage to participate with the community that is the Painted Fish.

AUDITIONS FOR MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET

When Kris Kringle, a nice old man from a retirement home gets a job working as a Christmas Santa at Macy's, his honest and generous spirit unleashes waves of good will throughout New York City, and a hint of magic in the heart of a very practical little girl. Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy's vocational counselor, who plots to have Kris shanghaied to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing where his freedom and the joys of childhood fantasy are at stake. This holiday tale is one we want to believe in, where love, decency, and generosity of spirit are their own rewards. Share this perennial holiday favorite with the entire family this season!

Open auditions for all roles will take place:

Tuesday September 17th (7:00 to 9:30pm)

Saturday September 21st (1:00 to 4:00pm)

Sunday September 22nd (1:00 to 4:00pm)

at the Morpheus Rehearsal Centre, 3512 5 Avenue NW (lower level of the Parkdale Community Centre)

Callbacks will take place on Tuesday September 24th from 7:00 to 10:00pm.

Audition Requirements:

*A prepared monologue to highlight your abilities (no more than two minutes in length).

*A cold read may be requested

*Please bring your resume and headshot to the audition

Not a traditional actor? That is okay, get in touch with us and we will find a way for you to showcase what you have to offer.

Rehearsals will take place from September 29th through December 5th. Rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Morpheus Theatre requires that auditioners come prepared to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule.

Audition: Luzia - Cirque du Soleil

Audition Notice: Luzia - Cirque du Soleil

TheatreMAMA, is coming to Calgary and are looking from performers with strong personalities, tons of energy and comfortable engaging with strangers in character and would love to work with some of your talented performers. We are working with Cirque du Soleil for an amazing street team activation for their upcoming show Luzia! We are looking for the following breakdown:

• 1 Brand Ambassador: Talent should embody someone who could be your best friend. They should be someone who you can see living next door, at your local grocery store, or even at happy hour for a drink or two! Talent must be outgoing, charismatic and comfortable approaching and conversing with strangers. [Either Gender, 18 Year of Age or older]
• 1 Male Performer: A costumed performer who is comfortable using physicality to convey a story. Strong movement/dance training preferred but not required. Performer will be required to wear a large headpiece, as seen in below picture. Costume is provided by Cirque du Soleil. [Can be playing by any gender, 18 Years of Age or older]]
• 1 Female Performer:  A costumed performer who is comfortable using physicality to convey a story. Strong movement/dance training preferred but not required. Performer will be required to wear a large headpiece, as seen in below picture. Costume is provided by Cirque du Soleil. [Played by Cis Female Performer, 18 Years of Age or older]

The events  will entail hitting up high traffic areas and events in Calgary to hand out collateral to promote Cirque du Soleil’s upcoming show Luzia using their performance skills and strong personalities!
