Student Film Festival: Casting Call for Actors

All the acting roles would be on a volunteer basis, and our Summer Film School students helm the director and crew roles under the supervision of their NUTV instructors. All these films will be screened at a student film festival at the Globe Cinema in September.

I've attached the casting calls for our three films. If any of your actors are interested, please send their headshots/resumes to casting@nutv.ca. We'd love to have the talented artists from your collective be in our films!

All the best,

Actors' Showcase Opportunity!

We would like to extend an invitation to your students and alumni to participate in our latest cross Canada digital actor Showcase June 1st – 30th.  This showcase focuses on introducing aspiring voice actors to some of the top voice agents in Canada.  The top 100 participants get to have a meeting with one of the agents one-on-one.  If this looks interesting, please reach out to us and we will create a unique %15 off promo code that your students can use for a discount or, simply share this with your community.

We offer no other classes, coaching or taping services.  This is to ensure the integrity of the showcase.

Voice Agent showcae June 2024 opens soon.jpg

We also have the generous support of 6 of the busiest voiceover agents in the industry who are all donating their time to give one-on-one meetings with the top 100 performers in the showcase!

These are:
Jude Foster - Foster Talent
Roberta Romano - Element Artist
Melanie Liatsis - Premier Artists
Ralph Streich - RED
Caroline Gilmour – The Characters
Jamie Levitt - LLA

Launched in 2019, Artist2Artist has teamed up with the top casting directors, agents and industry professionals with the intention of helping actors get critical feedback on their work and book the roles they were meant for.

This begins with the digital actor showcase.  Since this showcase is specifically geared to the voice industry, it has been adjusted slightly from a typical film and TV showcase.

  • Every actor submits a 1 – 1.5min voice sample which is evaluated by a panel of industry professionals. (See our website for all the instructions).
  • Everyone that submits to the showcase will receive feedback on their work from at least 2 panelists.  The panelists are industry professionals within the voice industry.
  • Everyone in the top 100 will be invited to choose the agent they most need to meet.  They will then meet with/audition for the chosen agent individually.
  • The cost of the showcase ranges from $55 - $65
  • A portion of each submission goes to the Actors Fund of Canada.  Check them out here: The AFC (afchelps.ca)

*A reminder that the casting director is donating their
time and is not compensated other than receiving a
curated list of the best 10 actors our panelists can find.
We thank them for their support and trust in this
process.

Registration closes June 30th.
