Hello, I'm from SAIT's Film and Video Production Program. We are doing a big casting call for our 20 minute short period Western, entitled A Dark Winter's Night. These are NON-PAID student productions. Actors will receive a copy of the finished product.
Shooting will take place between February 4th and March 6th on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Below is a short description of each role we are casting for. If you are interested, please email Eric at casting.sait.film@gmail.com with a headshot. We will get in touch with you to schedule an audition. We are available for auditions Jan. 28, 29, and 30 between the hours of 0900 and 1600.
The available roles are:
Jack Winters – Late 20s to mid 30s, male – A steely Federal Marshal, with a dark past. Will do anything to get the job done.
Baron Victus – 50s, male – Wealthy, articulate, fatally intelligent. Victus has given up his vestiges of humanity in order to gain a dark power.
Wan Lim – 40 - 50s, male – Father to Zhang Li, a migrant worker who resides in town. Befriends Jack, and asks him for help to find his missing daughter.
Zhang Li – 16, female – Daughter to Wan Lim, is taken by Victus. Beautiful, vulnerable, Zhang Li is a damsel in distress. Actress must be over 18.
Sheriff Williams – 40 - 50s, male – An aging lawman struggling to keep his town together as people keep going missing. The cracks are starting to show in his hardened demeanor.
Silas Quint – 30 - 40s, male – A murderous robber turned peaceful farmer. Silas forces Jack to reflect on his violent ways.
Rose Quint – 30 - 40s, female – The grieving widow of Silas, Rose stirs guilt in Jack to an almost unbearable amount.
Morris – 30s – 50s, male – Surly, resentful, Morris is the town bartender.
Thomas – 30 - 40s, male – Ghostly, haunting, Thomas is the butler of the damned.
Anne Winters – Late 20s, female – The late wife of Jack Winters, Anne appears to remind Jack of his past.
