Audition Requirements:
Members of Equity and ACTRA please note that as FRC
produces shows on a volunteer, recreational basis, we will not pay any
professional association fees, such as the fees stipulated by Equity's
Amateur Guest Artist policy, under any circumstances whatsoever.
Each auditioner should prepare their best minute each of
two musical theatre numbers, satisfying the following requirements:
- one 80's era rock song - one contrasting Musical Theatre song Both songs should highlight vocal range and ability to portray character. Please note that auditioners should bring backing tracks or an accompanist (piano will be provided, but no accompanist). A capella auditions will not be accepted. Auditioners should be prepared to remain for a dance call at the end of each hour. Please bring dance shoes and clothing you can move in.

A Doll’s House: Wild Rose : Audition Notice
ABOUT THE PLAY + ADAPTATION
Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House first premiered in Denmark on December 21st, 1879: It shook the theatre world.
Nora, a married woman, lacks self-fulfilment in a male dominated world. But determining her destiny disrupts society’s foundation. But what happens when our Nora finds herself in present day Alberta? Does she face a similar dilemma? How have her options changed? And more importantly, does she choose a new beginning?
This production is currently being adapted and will be workshopped. Should you be cast your input prior to script lock will be vital, approaching the text with a willingness to play and adapt to changes is a necessity.
Available Roles: Caucasian, Male (35-45). Any ethnicity, Male (25-35)
To Submit:
Please submit a one minute, self-tape, contemporary monologue to info@diytheatre.org by Friday, January 25th, 5pm.
Compensation: Honourium + profit share option
Performance Dates:
April 4th – 13th with matinees on Saturday & Sunday (no Sunday evening show, no Monday show). Performances will take place at Motel Theatre, Arts Commons.
There are mandatory workshops on Saturday, January 26th and February 2nd from 4pm to 8pm. Rehearsals will likely commence around the last week of February 3 times a week in Calgary (exact times are subject to performer availability).

We're looking for Background/Extras for our romantic comedy, Just Ask.
Just Ask is about a timid coffee shop manager who is dared by her know-it-all barista to ask one of her customers out on a date.

This short film which has been made possible by the Herland Video Production & Mentorship Program (http://herland.ca) which will allows women an opportunity to explore their creative vision with the goal of making a personal short film. These women acquire skills and experience in the art of filmmaking as they progress through the filmmaker’s journey. The goal is to put the power of image-making and storytelling into the hands of local, diverse women with limited access and/or experience, and to foster a spirit of collaboration in safe and open environment.

Audition Notice: Blend Vocal Association Choir
Blend Vocal Association seeks new members to join for our spring season, starting Thursday January 17th. We are a 14 voice female choir, performing 4 part arrangements of many genres from folk to jazz to rock to contemporary.
We're auditioning for alto voices at this time. The ability to read music is a requirement and we memorize our repertoire for performance. Solo opportunities are numerous if you've got the right stuff! Our Spring concert will be on Saturday May 4th at the Riverpark church in Marda Loop. Our theme for this concert is Journeys and Destinations and we are very excited about the varied and challenging repertoire this year.
We rehearse at the Calgary Girls School Lakeview on Thursday nights from 7 to 9. Choir fees are $250 per term. Our spring weekend workshop is March 9-10.
To arrange an audition, please fill out the form under the "Audition" tab on our website, http://www. blendvocal.com/join-blend/.
