Confederation Theatre Society of Calgary invites volunteer actors to audition for their season opener - Norm Foster's Opening Night
The madcap antics start as Jack and Ruth Tisdale celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary with an evening at the theatre. It's a dream come true for Ruth and an imposition for Jack who would rather be at home watching the World Series. However, after the events both on and off the stage that fateful night, their lives and those of all of those involved are irreparably altered.We are looking for individuals to audition for the following characters:
Ruth Tisdale - An assistant accountant in the Mayor's office, wife of Jack. Female 45 to 55
Jack Tisdale - A varnish salesman, husband of Ruth Male 45 to 60
Richard Hyde-Finch - the director Male 40 to 50
Cilla Fraser - Art Gallery owner and girlfriend of Richard Female 35 to 45
Michael Craig - An actor Male 40 to 55
Clayton Fry - An actor Male 45 to 65
Libby Husniak - An ingenue Female 20s
Tom Delaney - aspiring actor and waiter Male 20s
If successful, cast members must be available during rehearsals in September (some evenings and Saturdays) as well as from Nov 7 - 20, 2021 for the move-in, show and move-out. We welcome participation from all people of color, race, age, disability, gender identity and belief.
Auditions will be held at the Dog & Duck Pub 5340 2 St SW on Saturday August 21 at 2 PM and Wednesday August 25 at 7 pm with Callbacks (if necessary) on Thursday August 26 at 7 pm. Please arrive promptly at one of these scheduled times for cold read and group audition opportunities; Please bring your headshot/CV with you and wear comfortable clothing.
