Synopsis of A Friend of a Friend

Written by Tom Carver and directed by Helen Young, A Friend of a Friend is an original four-act play about relationships that go wrong. The play opens with Troy, a roughneck and Billy, a ne’er-do-well, bantering with Liz, a small town barmaid about making it big.  Twenty years later at a nightclub in Vancouver, Troy, now a successful musician has one final show before heading to Nashville with a recording contract and signing bonus. Seemingly out of the blue, Billy, Troy’s ex-wife Bev, Liz and her no-good brother, Snout, reappear in Troy’s life. Things go out of control when they start to conspire against each other for whatever they can get their hands on. Not everyone makes it out alive and in the end, the true prize is revealed.
