LITTLE WOMEN
A play based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel
Directed by Corinne Nairn & Colleen Bishop
 
Presented at the Pumphouse Theatre
January 30 – February 14, 2026
 
It may be called "Little Women" but our production in the new year also needs 3 male identifying actors! Walk in auditions are always welcome, or if you are interested but unable to attend auditions, please email audition@morpheustheatre.ca!
 
THEODORE “LAURIE” LAURENCE – Male-identifying, age 20-30
A handsome young man. Sensitive. Funny, charming, and caring
 
JOHN BROOKS/PARROT – Male-identifying, age 30-40
- JOHN BROOKS. Laurie’s sometimes stiff and awkward tutor.
- PARROT. Aunt March’s evil parrot.
 
MR. LAURENCE/ROBERT MARCH – Male-identifying, age 55+
- MR. LAURENCE. Laurie’s grandfather, responsible for Laurie’s upbringing. A wealthy man. A gentleman in the strictest sense.  Complex and layered.
- ROBERT MARCH. Father to the March girls. Never speaks, but his presence looms large.

Open auditions for all roles will take place: 
-     Sunday Oct 26th (7:00 to 9:00pm)
-     Monday Oct 27th (7:00 to 9:00pm)
-     Tuesday Oct 28th (7:00 to 9:00pm)
-     Drop in Auditioners are always welcome!
  
at the Morpheus Rehearsal Centre 3512 5 Avenue NW (lower level)
Callbacks if required, will be on Thursday Oct 30th (7:00 to 10:00pm)
  
Audition Requirements: 
  • Auditions for Little Women will take place In-person in ten minute time-slots
  • Please prepare a short monologue (no longer than 2 minutes)
  • Also, please select a Character Reading from the document HERE: https://www.morpheustheatre.ca/morph_wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Little-Women-Audition-Readings.pdf.  Printed copies will be available at the audition.
  • Auditioners are asked to complete an online audition form, with an acting resume and headshot.
  • Selected auditioners will be requested to attend an in-person callback to read with other performers.

Rehearsal and Performance Requirements: 
·     Rehearsals will be Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 10:00pm and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00pm starting November 4th.
