Synopsis: This five minute short film follows Jacob, a kind young man, who was sadly born with banana peels for hands. He spends his life searching for a career that will make him truly happy.
CHARACTER BIOS:
[JACOB] [MALE] [AGE: 20-25]
Jacob is a kind-hearted young man who is severely depressed. He was born with banana peels for hands and has been tormented his entire life. After a failed attempt at suicide, he decides it’s time to change his life around. This short film will be a montage of scenes showcasing Jacob working a number of different jobs, trying to find the one that works best for him. Some of the careers he tries include chef, police officer, telemarketer and construction worker.
[RESTAURANT CUSTOMER/CRIMINAL] [MALE] [AGE: 25-30]
A man who is slightly older than Jacob. Will play the roles of a man on a date in a restaurant scene and a criminal running from police officer Jacob in another.
[YOUNG JACOB] [MALE] [AGE: 8-12]
A young version of Jacob Bananahands, who is found sitting alone on a swing during recess in the opening sequence showing Jacob’s life. No dialogue is required.
[RESTAURANT CUSTOMER] [FEMALE] [AGE: 25-30]
A woman who will play half of a very in love couple during the restaurant scene.
[NARRATOR] [MALE] [AGE: 40+]
An older man with a powerful voice to narrate Jacob’s story. Will appear on screen for one scene. Acts as almost a father figure to Jacob Bananahands.
[SARAH PINEAPPLEHANDS] [FEMALE] [AGE: 20-25]
A pretty young woman who appears at the end of the short, whom Jacob falls in love with. She will have pineapple hands. No dialogue is required
