The CAST Program Presents GODSPELL
AUDITIONS - March 30, 2013 - 3:00-8:00 pm
The CAST Program is a part of the Youth Singers of
Calgary’s SUMMER STAGES.
Our goal is to give young performers (ages 16-24*) the
tools necessary to take their love of the arts to the next level as they
continue to pursue post-secondary, community or professional performance
opportunities. In addition to preparing GODSPELL participants will learn and
refine dance fundamentals, sing in vocal master classes and take acting lessons
that will all contribute toward our final production.
Recently revived on Broadway GODSPELL challenges
performers to grow in many aspects of theatre. Along with its enduring melodies
and themes we are excited to use it as our training vehicle for the 2013
season.
2013 PROGRAM DATES
June 22 – July 31: Classes/Rehearsals held on Tues/Thurs
evening, & Sat late afternoon (Designed so you can keep your summer day
job!)
Aug 1-3: Performances with Matinee on Aug 3

To book your audition please email your preferred time

Saturday March 30, 2013 – FIRST ROUND**
3:00-4:00 pm – Individual Auditions (must stay for dance
component at 4:00pm)
4:00-4:30 pm – Dance Audition
4:30-5:30 pm – Individual Auditions (must stay for dance
component at 5:30pm)
5:30-6:00 pm – Dance Audition
6:00-7:00 pm – Individual Auditions (must stay for dance
component at 7:00pm)
7:00-7:30 pm – Dance Audition
Please prepare 32 bars of one song of your choice. Please
provide mp3 or CD accompaniment.
Candidates will be asked to read lines in the audition;
no monologue required.
Successful candidates will receive a package with details
on tuition and registration.
VIDEO AUDITIONS are welcome for those out of town or who
cannot make the set audition date. Files can be emailed or posted on a video
sharing site and linked in an emailed. Please include:
- 32 bars of one song of your choice
- 1-2 minute monologue
- written description of dance experience in email
- attach resume & headshot to email
* 15 year olds will be considered with recommendation
from fine arts instructor (eg. voice teacher, drama instructor, previous
theatre director,
etc.)
