Boiler Room Suite is a bitter sweet comedy about an older
lady and gentleman who are homeless. They shelter in the basement of an old
hotel, and in their imaginations bring to life those above them -- both in
status and literally above as guests in the hotel.
Sinister laughter lets them know they are not alone, and
are perhaps overheard. Before the second act we are introduced to Pete the
janitor who brings with him the harsher 'real' world, and the potential to
expel them from their nest.
Sprugg - 50+, homeless man -- imaginative, intelligent,
creative, energetic, but with a tendency at times to blur the lines between
imagination and reality.
Aggie Rose - 50+, homeless ex-actress. Strong willed,
full of vim and vinegar, yet also a faded rose who never fully had a chance to
bloom.
Pete - 25+, probably male, but I have the playwright's
permission to make Pete (Pat?) female. Either way, s/he is strong enough to
casually toss elderly people around. Blue collar, not well educated, but not
dumb. His/her preconceptions about the homeless are challenged by these two
very unique individuals.
Ages given are for the characters. If you're somewhat
younger, you're not ruled out, provided you can play older convincingly.
There is some physicality in this play -- dance, moving
of junk, some physical violence. Requires at least moderately fit actors.
If you auditioned for ACT's generals on July 26th and
expressed interest in this play, you are welcome to audition again, but it is
not required as we are already considering you.

the audition.
Rehearsal schedule TBA depending upon actor availability,
but it will be in November, starting light and intensifying during the last two
weeks.
Actors are required to be off book for first day of
rehearsal.
