|EMERGE
AUDITIONS|
On Thursday, February 23rd, the Faculty of Company of
Rogues Actor's Studio will be auditioning actors who want to be considered for
the 2012 Emerge Auditions. The Emerge Auditions are for actors graduating
from full-time programs and is a forum for their work to be seen by Calgary and
Edmonton based theatre companies and agents. Candidates' work should be ready
to be seen by the professional community--i.e. on par with the grads of Mt.
Royal and U.of C. If you are in doubt about your standing, please ask
your instructor.
In past years, the faculty has consulted then chosen
three actors to send--last year our candidates were Brittany Marshall, Alexis
Lerigny and Shane McLean. This year, we have 4 slots to fill potentially and
are implementing this new audition process. Potential actors should have
completed the Masterclass Program, or have studied with us consistently over a
period of time: 1-2 years or more. The Emerge Auditions are in April, so actors
selected will still have time to polish their work for Emerge. However, they
must have two pieces they are working on to show us and their program of
monologues has to be determined by March 16. Actors must also be willing to
appear at both the Calgary and Edmonton auditions
Actors should prepare two contrasting monologues of 2
minutes (or less) each. Both monologues can be contemporary/modern, or may
include one Shakespeare. We suggest you only perform Shakespeare if it's an
area in which you are strong.
Rogues Emerge Auditions: February 23; 6:30pm. Auditions
will be booked in 10 minute intervals to allow for some direction to be given.
Meisner students will be permitted to leave class for their audition
The session may be extended if there is a demand. This would necessitate an earlier start time, since we must submit our candidates’ names by 4pm on February 24. If this is important to you we hope you will clear your schedule to attend.
Candidates please submit their names directly to me by e-mail:

and cc the studio at: info@corogues.com.
Many Thanks,
Joe-Norman Shaw and Christianne Hirt
