The Liffey Players is scheduling auditions for their
upcoming spring production, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, by Martin McDonagh
Synopsis:
"Set in the mountains of Connemara, County Galway,
THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE tells the darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan, a
plain and lonely woman in her early forties, and Mag, her manipulative aging
mother, whose interference in Maureen's first and possibly final chance of a
loving relationship sets in motion a train of events that leads inexorably
towards the play's terrifying denouement."
Need the following actors:
Maureen Folan- 40's (part on offer)
Mag Folan- her mother aged 70, stout but frail
Pato Dooley- age 40
Ray Dooley- his brother 20's
This production will run at the Irish Cultural Society
from May 9 to 18, 2013. The Liffey Players will also be performing this play at
the Acting Irish International Theatre Festival on May 25, 2013, in Chicago,
Il. Actors cast in this production will be expected to participate in the
festival performance as well.
Auditions are by appointment only, and will be held on
Monday & Tuesday, January 21st & 22nd at 7pm at the Irish Cultural
Society, at 6452 - 35 Avenue NW. Call backs will be held on Thursday, January
24th, also at 7pm.
