SCREENWRITING FOR ACTORS, DIRECTORS, WRITERS
Class studies Screen Structure in a screenplay including
Turning Points, Dramatic Action, Character, Expression of Theme, Visualization,
Building the blocks of a Successful Screenplay, as well as structure within a
scene, rising action and turning points within a scene, subtext and character
goals.
Class will be of interest to actors, writers, directors and
others who want to understand what makes a scene and screenplay work and for
those who want to develop their emotional and dramatic approach to writing and
acting. Participants will map out the
key turning points in a screenplay and write scenes with techniques to create
rising action and emotion, and will workshop these scenes in a nurturing environment. ALL
Participants will have a one on one with the instructor with their
scene, or overall screenplay idea and structure, and will study from actual
successful films and screenplays. A
hands-on workshop for those who want to develop and master the study of the
screen page.

About the Instructor
Wendy Hill-Tout has
produced, executive produced, written and directed over 25 TV movies,
documentaries, performing arts specials and features. She has been teaching screenwriting and
consulting on screen excellence for over 10 years, and her screenplays and
films have won awards and recognition around the world. She has worked with Fox, Disney, Turner
Broadcasting, Dreamworks, CBS, CTV and others and her co-produced films have
been nominated for Golden Globes, Emmys, Geminis, and other prestigious awards. She has studied at UCLA among many other
schools and seminars and has brought in has brought in screenplay gurus such as
Michael Hauge and UCLA co-chair Lew Hunter.
