SPRING 2013 Schedule of Classes SPACE STILL AVAILABLE |TEEN: FILM & TV (14-18 YRS)|  A perfect opportunity for teens to get involved in the Film & Television industry, gaining valuable knowledge of the audition experience and on-camera technique. Students will work with the instructor on a selection of scenes from contemporary scripts, while learning to work creatively from the text. Emphasis is on making specific, informed and engaging choices to strengthen their on-camera performance. 6 weeks $275+GST Feb 21st - Mar 28th 6:00pm - 8:30pm ABOUT US Rogues was founded in 1993 in Vancouver, B.C. by seasoned working professionals, Christianne Hirt and Joe-Norman Shaw - who shared a desire to establish a creative home where actors could explore their craft in an environment devoted to the highest and most demanding artistic principles. After Christianne won the lead role of Hannah in the series Lonesome Dove, the two moved to Calgary where they re-established Company of Rogues in 1996, continuing their vision to cultivate a community of first class actors. REASONS TO STUDY WITH US - Instructors are working professionals - Customized programs free of academic requirements - Most classes offered evenings & weekends (allows for employment during training) - Strong ties to the professional Film and Theatre communities in Calgary and Vancouver - Represented at Theatre Alberta’s annual EMERGE Auditions - Actors are actively sought by local/regional agents, casting directors, film makers and theatre companies - Lifetime Mentorship - Flexible Payment Plans We invite you to audit our classes and discover why Company of Rogues is the place to be. |EMERGE AUDITIONS| On Tuesday, February 19th, the Faculty of Company of Rogues Actor's Studio will be auditioning actors who want to be considered for the 2013 Emerge Auditions.  The Emerge Auditions are for actors graduating from full-time programs and is a forum for their work to be seen by Calgary and Edmonton based theatre companies and agents. Candidates' work should be ready to be seen by the professional community--i.e. on par with the grads of Mt. Royal and U.of C.  If you are in doubt about your standing, please ask your instructor.    In past years, the faculty has consulted then chosen four actors to send--last year our candidates were Tiffany Cuffley, Wendy Froberg, Cliff Liknes and Sophia Lauchlin This year, we have 4 slots to fill potentially and are implementing this new audition process. Potential actors should have completed the Masterclass Program, or have studied with us consistently over a period of time: 1-2 years or more. The Emerge Auditions are in April, so actors selected will still have time to polish their work for Emerge. However, they must have two pieces they are working on to show us and their program of monologues has to be determined by March 8. Actors must also be willing to appear at both the Calgary and Edmonton auditions   Actors should prepare two contrasting monologues of 2 minutes (or less) each. Both monologues can be contemporary/modern, or may include one Shakespeare. We suggest you only perform Shakespeare if it's an area in which you are strong.   Rogues Emerge Auditions: February 19th @ 6:30pm. Auditions will be booked in 10 minute intervals to allow for some direction to be given. Film students will be permitted to leave class for their audition.  If callbacks are needed, they will take place Thursday, February 21st @ 4pm.  If this is important to you we hope you will clear your schedule to attend.  We will only be auditioning candidates whose work we feel is ready to be seen by the professional community Candidates please submit their names directly to me by e-mail:  joe@corogues.com and cc the studio at: info@corogues.com. Great news for local actors: Company of Rogues Actor's Studio will return for another full year of classes through the 2013-2014 year!  Rogues will be running an exciting six- week session of classes in May and June, a great primer for our Master Class Program, as well as the usual summer fare (2013). Both to be announced in the coming weeks. We will also be accepting actors into to our full-time Masterclass Program for the Fall of 2013. Actors interested in applying for the Master Class Program should contact the Studio to arrange an interview and to set up an audition. Our full-time program runs from early September to the end of June. Students are accepted into the program through the interview/audition process during the previous spring and early summer months
