CALL FOR BACKGROUND
Call for Background.
We are filming a six-minute short film on September 4th and 5th in Calgary and require various background. It is funded, but unfortunately we can only offer meals, copy and credit for background.
We are looking for the following:
Older woman.
Middle aged woman.
25 - 30 year old man.
Ten diner patrons, any age, gender.

We want to offer the positions to trained actors, first of all because they understand the film world and are working towards a career in the industry and it also gives us a chance to meet working actors for potential roles in upcoming productions.

Calgary Fringe Starts TODAY!

Calgary Fringe 2010 Starts today! Love live, interesting, fun and enthralling theatre?! This is the time to get out to shows... The Fringe runs July 30th -August 7th 2010.
What is a Fringe?
Fringes are uncensored, non-juried theatre festivals. The first Fringe started in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947, and has grown into one of the biggest arts festivals in the world. The second-largest Fringe Festival is in Edmonton, Alberta , and draws nearly 800,000 attendees a year!
The Fringe Festival summer event in 2009 saw a banner year for the Calgary Fringe. Tickets sales were up 40% from last year and artist payouts 65%. And we're not stopping there! We are looking forward to another fun-filled 9 days in 2010 ... here's to breaking more records!

The Casting Director workshop is back again this year, providing students the opportunity to have their on-camera work seen by an industry professional while also receiving valuable feedback and tips in the process. Deb Green’s previous projects include Everest, The Assassination of Jesse James, Brokeback Mountain, Six Figures, Crazy Canucks, Agent of Influence, Snow Dogs and many others. Students will work on a series of scenes over the course of this intensive workshop and will leave with a tape of their on-camera work. With one of Western Canada’s leading Casting Directors leading this workshop, they are a must for anyone seriously seeking more experience or a career in film & television acting.
Level: Intermediate – Advanced
