General Auditions: Storybook Theatre
StoryBook is excited to launch our Season 46 Auditions!
StoryBook believes that inclusivity and diversity are integral to the stories we tell both on and off our stage and wants an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work. We encourage people of all ages, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, and ethnicity to apply.
AUDITIONS OPEN - Sunday, July 17 at 12am
AUDITIONS CLOSE - Sunday, August 7th at 11:59pm
REQUIREMENTS
Anyone wishing to be considered for any of our productions this season must submit a General Audition form along with all necessary information.
You must be 10 years of age at the time of the audition to be considered.
In order to submit an a form for consideration you will need to prepare the following:
Theatre Resume or List of Performance information
This does not need to be a formal resume or even fancy. A simple list of what you may have done in the past that shows where you are at in a performance level. For some this may be as simple as performing for your family, for others it could be dance or vocal recitals. If you have a formal resume we would accept that as well.
Headshot or Photo
This does not need to be a professional photo, but it does need to show your face, so please no photos in profile or with sunglasses on. This allows the team to see you and know who they are about to hear and see perform. While the photo does not need to be professional, it does need to be clear, well lit and show your face.
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
In order to submit for our General Auditions, you will need to have access to a video recording device of some kind. Again, you do not need to spend a bunch of money, but you do need to make sure that the device can clearly see you and hear you, especially once you start playing your music.
You will also need to upload your videos to YOUTUBE as an unlisted video. This means that only people with the link and yourself can access it.
For almost everyone, there are FOUR VIDEOS which are required.
1. HELLO Video
2. MONOLOGUE Video
3. UPTEMPO Musical Theatre Video
4. BALLAD Musical Theatre Video
If you are only submitting for "Peter and the Star Catcher", you only need to submit Videos 1 and 2.
Callback dates will be announced for each show in the coming weeks.
Visit storybooktheatre.org/auditions to see all audition requirements, show commitment information as well as character breakdowns, scripts and more.
