Callbacks: Callbacks will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 1:00 PM. Everyone who is needed for callbacks will be contacted on Saturday night by phone or email. Keep in  mind that not all roles will be needed for callbacks, so if you don’t get a call, don’t panic.

Omigod, omigod you guys!Sorority queen Elle Woods doesn’t take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone ‘serious’, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and heads where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law!  With the help of her sorority sisters, everyone’s favourite beautician, Paulette, and her  Chihuahua, Bruiser, Elle proves that being true to you never goes out of style.

FRC is excited to bring everyone’s favourite blonde lawyer back to Calgary! With songs like "Omigod You Guys", "Gay or European?" and "Bend  and Snap", Legally Blonde is an all-singing, all-dancing, feel-good musical comedy that will be a highlight of your year! Join us as we take you from the social whirl of Malibu to the hallowed halls of Harvard Law.  The verdict? This much fun shouldn’t be legal!

Audition Location

Auditions are held at the Beddington Heights Community Arts Centre.
375 Bermuda Dr NW, Calgary, AB.

Audition Requirements

Please prepare a comedic monologue or joke and a musical theatre  piece (No more than 3 minutes long, and not from Legally Blonde) which displays your vocal capabilities.  Please bring a backing track or your own accompanist (a piano will be provided). No a-cappella.

Auditions will be on Wednesday, January 30th; Thursday, January 31st; and Friday, February 1st; starting at 7:00 PM as well as Saturday, February 2nd starting at 12:00 PM  There will be a group choreography audition after every 6 auditions, so please prepare for that after your audition is finished. Make sure to wear clothes that you can dance in.

Members of Equity and ACTRA please note that as FRC produces shows on a volunteer, recreational basis, we will not pay any professional association fees, such as the fees stipulated by Equity’s Amateur Guest Artist policy, under any circumstances whatsoever.


Rehearsals
Read through will be on Wednesday, February 6th; and the first rehearsal will begin Saturday, February 9th.

Rehearsals will be held every Monday evening at 7:00 PM, Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM and every Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.


For those with allergies, please be aware that there will be dogs involved in the show, and when not on stage, they will be back stage in the green room with the actors.

All roles will be required to dance (some more than others), especially the roles of Brooke Wyndham and some of the female ensemble who have a very cardio intense number.

Elle Woods FSoprano Belt, Gb2 - G5 18-25yrs old. The quintessential Valley Girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more to offer than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality.
Emmett ForrestMTenor, B2 - A4 20-25 yrs old. A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly.
PauletteFSoprano Belt, Range: A3 - A535-45 yrs old. A brash, caring, optimistic hair stylist who is friends with Elle and longs to find a man for herself.
Warner Huntington IIIMTenor, Eb3 - Ab420-25 yrs old. A good-looking but shallow and pompous guy who breaks Elle's heart and heads off to Harvard Law.
Professor Callahan MBaritone, A2 - F#445-55 yrs old. A pompous, sleezy and manipulative law professor at Harvard who is highly successful, but completely amoral.
Vivienne Kensington FSoprano Belt, A3 - F520-25yrs old. A smart, savvy, and uptight law student and Warner's fiancee who initially dismisses Elle, but grows to be her friend.
Brooke Wyndham FAlto or Soprano, A3 - G525-35yrs old. An exercise video mogul who is also a former sorority girl. She is energetic and charismatic, yet currently on trial for murder.
Margot, Serena & Pilar FSoprano Belt, G#3 - F518-25. Elle's sorority sisters, best friends and subconscious muses 
Enid FSoprano Belt, G3 - G520-25. A mousy, intellectual law student.
