AUDITION NOTICE: Kimberley Summer Theatre



Auditions for:  Kimberley Summer Theatre Society Summer 2013



Kimberley Summer Theatre is holding auditions for a summer performance contract on March 24th in Calgary.

Contract Details:

-Performers cast will be double cast in two shows which will run throughout the summer as follows:

Self-Help (By Norm Foster) – July 9th to July 17th, 2013 & 
The Wizard of Oz – July 30th to August 9th,
2013

- Contract begins June 1st 2013 and ends Aug 18th 2013

- Accommodation is provided for performers in Kimberley, BC, a 15min walk  from Centre 64 (main rehearsal space)

-Refundable damage deposit returned to actors at the end of occupancy.

-This is a paid contract.


Audition Requirements and Information:

-Auditions
will be held on March 24th, 2013 between 12:00pm-3:00pm, at the Green Fools Space: 2404 Erlton Road SW. Actors will be given 10 minute time-slots. If you have a preferred time, please include it in your submission.

-Please
provide a current resume and 8x10 headshot at time of audition.

-Performers
are asked to prepare a short monologue and may be asked to read a short scene from either show. Please also prepare one song from Wizard of Oz as well as a second song of your choosing.

-Candidates
will be taught a short bit of choreography during the audition so please come dressed in something you can easily move in.

-Accompaniment will not be provided so please bring a sound recording to sing to. (I-pod docking station will be available, if you require another form of music player please provide it yourself)

About Kimberley Summer Theatre: Kimberley Summer Theatre Society (founded 1997) produces yearly theatre shows and a summer theatre school in Kimberley BC, a small, scenic town in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Our objective is to provide affordable but professional theatre for an international audience of all ages.

Every year we produce a 2 show summer season. Our shows and theater school run in July and August, when Kimberley is busy with tourists from all over the world.



As a not-for-profit society, we can keep our tickets prices low because of the support of our members, donations, volunteers and local government. Apart from our professional actors, we largely work on a volunteer or semi-volunteer basis.
