WHO: Calling all actors who keep Christmas with them all
through the year, this is your time to
shine!
WHAT: Auditions for Miracle on 34th Street. A classic Christmas tale about the magic of
Santa Clause and the miracles the holiday season can bring about!
WHEN: August 28th
and 30th from 7-9 PM and August 31st from 1-5 pm in 10 minute increments.
Callbacks will be held Wednesday September 4th from 7-9
PM Rehearsals to begin: September 16th
and will occur 3x a week.

HOW: Please contact info@WORKSHOPTHEATRE.ORG to arrange
an audition time. Please bring a recent headshot and acting resume. It is
preferred if you have a monologue to present, however cold reads will also be
accepted.
Character List:
Kris Kringle- Santa Clause. Male. Kind, Compassionate,
caring, witty, grandfatherly type. Real beard or ability to grow one is a plus
but not necessary. 40 years or older.
Doctor Pierce- Kris Kringle’s kindly physician at the
retirement home. Male or Female. 25- 70 years old. Intelligent, gentle, caring, compassionate
Doris Walker- Personnel Manager at Macy’s. Female. 25-40 years old. Confident,
attractive, practical, motherly. Not afraid to speak her mind. A no-nonsense
type of woman.
Shellhammer- Doris
Walker’s personal assistant. Male or Female. 20-70 years old. Supportive, helps
out whenever he/she can. Very job orientated Susan Walker- Doris Walker’s
daughter, Female, Age: 5-9. Has been raised by her mother to be very practical
and does not tend to believe in the mystical or imaginary. Very polite child.
Fred Gayley- a lawyer, neighbor and friend to Doris and
Susan. Male, Age 25-40 years old.
Attractive, caring, and compassionate is romantically interested in Doris.
Believes all things are possible. Defends Kris in court
Macy- Owner and Manager of Macy’s Department Store. Male
or Female. 30-70 years old. Business-person, confident, decisive
Sawyer- Macy’s vocational guidance counselor. Male or
Female. Age 30-70 years. Bitter, sneaky, does not believe in fairy tales, no
sense of humor, overall mean spirited.
Homeless Person-
Homeless person at Thanksgiving day parade. Male or Female. 16-100
years old. Kind and positive attitude. See’s the best in everything.
Rich Person- Rich person at Thanksgiving day parade. Male
or Female. 16-100 years old. Snotty attitude, looks down on others.
Drunken Santa- An intoxicated employee of Macy’s. Male or
Female. 25-70 years old. Joyful, yet very drunk.
Bloomingdale- Owner and manager of Bloomingdales
Department Store. Male or Female. 30-70 years old. Business-person, confident,
decisive.
Judge Harper- Judge at Kris Kringle’s Trial, also is
running for mayor. Male or Female. 30-70 years old. Logical, intelligent, fair,
commanding.
Finley- bailiff in Judge Harpers Court. Male or Female. 30-70 years old.
Mara- Prosecuting attorney. Goes up against Kris and Fred
in Court. Male or Female . 25-40 years old. Short tempered, confident, snappy,
logical.
Halloran- Judge Harper’s political campaign manager. Male
or Female. 30-70 years old. Wants Judge Harper to win the election. Very
conservative, does not like taking risks.
Duncan- Antelope keeper at the central park zoo. Kris
stays at his place for a couple of nights when he needs a place to sleep. Male
or Female. Any age over 18. Friendly.
Mara Jr. – Prosecuting Attorney’s child. Boy or Girl.
5-10 years old. Innocent and truthful.
Al & Lou- Postal Employee’s. Male or female, any age
over 18.
Teenagers x3
Children x3- One who can speak Dutch
Elves x4-8. Some dance/musical experience would be
preferred as there is potential in the play for a short/simple elf dance
number.
