I have been approached about a sudden opportunity to
stage a Haunted Halloween event at a local Calgary venue. In order to confirm
the event, one variable is the number of actors available and interested. An
honorarium will be paid to participants (but no, you won't get rich).
If the production goes ahead, roles will exist for
between 5 and 20 spooky people. Characters will generally be in the realm of
ghouls, goblins, ghosts, spirits, queens or kings of the damned, zombies and
the like. Preference would be given to performers available for performances on
each Friday and Saturday in October (that is, October 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24,
25, 31) and November 1. Performers will be expected to interact with patrons
within a set scene and character, but will not generally be performing scripted
lines. A small number (one or two) of roles for "evil buskers" may
also be available. (Evil Buskers startle or amuse patrons outside of the set
story, often with a physical skill or entertaining persona that is in keeping
with a Halloween event.)
