Calling all performing artists! Are you looking for a fun filled, magically musical project to get you through the dark days of fall? Well look no further! Morpheus Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for our family friendly holiday season panto! Please join Director Michelle Brandenburg in a collaborative process to bring Ben Crocker's Beauty and the Beast: A Pantomime to life (This isn't your Disney's Beauty and the Beast). This show will be filled with puppets, musical numbers, comedic fun, physical foolery and anything else auditioners bring to the table!

Open auditions for all roles will take place:
Wednesday September 6th (7:00 to 9:30pm)
Thursday September 7th (7:00 to 9:30pm)
Saturday September 9th (1:00 to 3:30pm)

At the Morpheus Rehearsal Centre, 3512 5 Avenue NW (lower level of the Parkdale Community Centre)
Callbacks, if required, will take place on Tuesday July 4th from 7:00 to 9:30pm.

Audition Requirements:
*A comedic monologue (approximately two minutes)
*A song of your choice from the 1940's to now
*Please bring your resume and headshot to the audition

*To note, if you'd like to audition: yes, there will be singing. There will also be acting, and dancing, and the graceful treading of pantomime boards. That said, we are also looking for multidisciplinary performance artists who can help bring some of the fantastical magic of the play to life in a live theatre performance. So this is also a call for puppeteers, clowns, acrobats, mimes, magicians and et cetera! Anyone who is comfortable with a whimsical, exploratory, fun discovery process is most welcome to sign up for an audition. We look forward to meeting you all!

If you have a brilliant skill that you would like to bring to the table please let us know so we can tailor your audition. Not a tradition actor? That is okay, get in touch with us and we will find a way for you to showcase what you have to offer. Auditioners should be prepared for a rehearsal process that mixes the tradition rehearsal process with a collaborative creative process. We will have the opportunity to skill-build throughout and ideally create a truly memorable experience for our audience.

Rehearsals will take place from September 23rd through December 7th. Rehearsals will be Saturday afternoons, Monday and Wednesday evenings. Morpheus Theatre requires that auditioners come prepared to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule.
