AUDITIONS: Heritage Park

Auditions: Halloween and Christmas Productions – Heritage Park

Heritage Park is pleased to announce auditions for its Ghouls Night Out Production: “The Potion Dungeon” by Trevor Matheson and its Once Upon a Christmas Production: “Misdeeds at Mistletoe Mine” by Tim Koening.

The Potion Dungeon – Guests will enter the Gunn’s Dairy barn and create potions: supernatural spells and cure alls. Wizard Wildamore then leads a ‘Potions 101’ wizardry class. During the vignette many things go bad with his four patients. Then a few of the guest’s potions are used to calm the situation. Vignette’s are scripted, but will alter each character’s state based on the particular type of potion used. Performances are continuous throughout the evening, as guests filter in and out of the exhibit.

ROLES ~ The Potion Dungeon
Professor Wildamore – A wizard based on Dumbledore from Harry Potter, could be male or female.
Lurch – A male scholar who is un-inspired.
Wolf Man – A wolf man captured in Dead Man’s Flats.
Medusa – A powerful, mad woman who can turn people to stone.
Frankenstein’s Patient – Just looking for a place to belonging.

Misdeed at Mistletoe Mine – A 40 minute melodrama performed in the Canmore Opera House. Poor little Holly Hock. Orphaned, she has inherited a gold mine with no gold and a hotel with no guests. Her aunt, Rose Bush, has taken both her and the failing business under her wing. When handsome Redmond Wood rides into town, the future suddenly looks promising for Rose and Holly, but the villainous Mayor William Z. Lucifer has other plans. With the help of femme fatale Chiquita Rosarita Ricardo, Mayor Lucifer concocts a plan to drive Red out of town and take custody of Holly, thereby inheriting the hotel and gold mine. Due to the “sanity clause” of the adoption agreement, Lucifer just needs to prove Rose Bush unfit for guardianship, which he attempts to do by drugging Rose’s drink and calling the Matron in to witness her strange behavior! Tough-as-nails Matron Tucson Tessie and the locals of Hillcrest and the Hillcrest Inn will entertain audiences with this highly comical melodrama full of wit and physical humor.

ROLES ~ Misdeeds at Mistletoe Mine
Stubby Nuggets ~ An old prospector; narrator Diogenes ~ Young Stubby; desk clerk at the Yule Fall Inn; non-speaking Redmond “Red” Wood ~ Handsome hero with a scandalous secret Rose Bush ~ Beautiful heroine; pure as the driven snow Holly Hock ~ Charming, young orphan girl, niece to Rose.
William Z. Lucifer, ESQ ~ Evil mayor of Hill Crest; also a lawyer Chiquita Rosarita Ricardo ~ Brazen femme fatale with a heavy Cuban accent Tucson Tessie ~ Tough-as-nails matron of Hill Crest.
