AUDITION NOTICE-Stage West for Kids

Elves and the Shoemaker- November-December 2012

At Stage West Theatres

Directed by Chris Stockton

This Production is fun for all ages.

Birnton Productions is excited to announce the auditions for their inaugural production. Birnton Productions is a new company whose mandate is to produce theatre and offer educational programming that introduces kids and young adults to the power and magic of live theatre and drama.  Our goal is to not only foster the development of beginning artists but also to excite a young generation into becoming life long patrons of the arts.

Elves and the Shoemaker is based on the classic children’s fairytale of the same name with a Christmas twist.  When two elves, Niki and Addy are informed that they must help an old shoemaker over Christmas in order to get a promotion in Santa’s workshop, they are less than impressed.  The shoemaker and his wife are down to their last pair of shoes.  The shoemaker decides in the spirit of Christmas to give the shoes to a homeless person instead of selling them to make money for a Christmas dinner.  Over the next few days the elves help the couple build shoes and in typical fairytale endings, the elves are given their promotion, the shoemaker and his wife have a lovely Christmas and everyone has learned a valuable lesson in the power of giving.
