Audition Notice for French Kiss Off
Auditions will take place at the Dog and Duck Pub (lower floor) 5340 - 2 St SW, Calgary (one block east of Macleod Trail), at 7.00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec 5th and 6th) for French Kiss Off ( a comedy).
The play, which will go up on February 15-23, 2019, will be directed by Randolph West. Although this audition will be a cold read, a brief one minute monologue would be appreciated. Please RSVP to alanl@athabascau.ca to confirm attendance.
CHARACTERS:
CARLA CRUDUPP Female, mid-50s
A smart, physically fit woman who clearly looks after herself. She is Kieran’s mother, and recently widowed. She shares a flat with Kieran and Rick, and mothers both of them since her husband died. She is looking for a bit of excitement in her life.
RICK GERRARD Male, mid-30s
Kieran’s best friend and roommate. Early thirties, drinks too much. Unheralded artist. Intelligent but financially unsuccessful. He is scruffily dressed and unshaven. He is very inexperienced in romantic relationships, but looking for a bit of excitement in his life. Large role.
KIERAN CRUDUPP Male, mid-30s
Unsuccessful playwright. Engaged to Jen. Relies a little too much on his mother to look after him. Smartly dressed and attractive. Large role.
JEN
Tall. Comes from a wealthy family. Kieran’s fianceé. Gets on very well with Carla.
MR. WYNDHAM Male, mid-50s
Wyndham is a representative of a new publishing house, who has become interested in one of Kieran’s plays. He has a commanding presence and a good sense of humour.
“NATASHA” PAVEY Female, early-40s
Gerald’s wife. She is a bored housewife looking for a bit of excitement in her life.
GERALD PAVEY Male, 45 - 55 years old
Advertising executive, married to Natasha, and looking for a bit of excitement in his life.
ARNOLD CLOVIS Male, 50 - 60 years old
Slightly pompous. He is a representative for a large, well-known publishing house with a bit of a reputation. He is interested in one of Kieran’s plays.

A mysterious stranger. There’s one in every play.
