Audition Notice: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie


AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT for Workshop Theatre's next production:

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Jay Presson Allen
Directed by Louis B. Hobson and Anne Hodgson 

The production runs March 16-23 2019 at the Pumphouse Theatre 

Audition date: December 22nd at 11am
Auditions are being held at Workshop Theatre's rehearsal space: Bay H 1003 55th Ave NE

Auditions will take place in a group format
Auditions are a cold read. Please bring a resume and headshot (if you have them)

Rehearsals will be held Monday's, Tuesday's and Saturday's starting early January

Characters are as follows:
JEAN BRODIE
The actress must be able to play 35 to 45 years old. Jean is eccentric, vain, self-important and sensuous.

SANDY, JENNY, MONICA and MARY
The actresses must be able to play 15 to 18 years old as the play spans three years

MISS MACKAY
The actress must be able to play 60 to 70 years old. She is the stern headmistress     

GORDON LOWTHER
The actor must be able to play 35 to 50 years old. He is the staid music teacher and the choirmaster at his church. Get the idea!

TEDDY LLOYD
The actor must be able to play 35 to 45 years old. He is the rakish art teacher and wannabe artist.

SISTER HELENA
The actress must be able to play anywhere between 50 and 70 depending in which era we place the bookend scenes for the play

MR. PERRY
This is a wide open casting. He is simply a journalist from America who has come to interview Sister Helena a renowned cloistered nun

DO NOT TRY TO EFFECT A SCOTTISH ACCENT FOR YOUR AUDITION.
